Scaling My Business After Getting My Degree
I’m Julio Calanche, Venezuelan-born and storytelling-obsessed. I studied Television Production in Panama and spent 17 years navigating the world of sales before founding my business Sales Done Right, a consultancy built to help creatives sell without losing their soul. Today, I’m working as a Sales Strategist with Hard Rock International while scaling my own firm — and much of that momentum began with OneDay and Woolf.
I chose the MBA program because it offered the perfect pairing of practical business coaching now and formal academic recognition for the long haul. That combination made it an easy “yes.” As a founder, I’d already seen how common it is for creatives to master their craft but struggle with consistent client flow. I wanted a degree that helped close that gap, and this one delivered it.
My favourite part of the experience? Seeing theory work. Every seminar was a chance to bring real business challenges into the room and leave with practical, testable ideas. It was applied and immediately relevant.
The program also rewired how I operate. I built weekly habits that turned into business systems. I learned to interrogate data and back instinct with evidence — something that resonates with both clients and investors. Most importantly, I learned how to blend structured strategy with creative storytelling, helping my clients design sales journeys that are both repeatable and emotionally resonant.
A moment that stands out for me was discovering The Mom Test. It helped me uncover a key objection: that creatives didn’t believe consultants shared their passion. Instead of deflecting, I embedded passion into our brand promise. Conversion rates soared. That shift still shapes every client conversation I have today.

What’s next for me? More enterprise work to deepen credibility, more case studies to sharpen my frameworks, and then the launch of Sales Done Right Academy, an online platform built to empower thousands of creative entrepreneurs. Woolf’s blueprint — structured learning, measurable outcomes — will be the architecture behind it all.
