My doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of metal complexes with Schiff’s base ligands. Schiff’s bases, derived from condensation reactions between primary amines and aldehydes/ketones, are versatile ligands with strong donor properties. The work involved the preparation of novel Schiff’s base ligands and their subsequent coordination with transition metals. The synthesized complexes were characterized using spectroscopic, thermal, and magnetic studies to evaluate their structural and electronic properties. This study contributes to the understanding of metal-ligand interactions and potential applications of Schiff’s base complexes in catalysis, materials science, and bioinorganic chemistry.
